BOFF is a not-for-profit enterprise. It is a commercial event though, and when everything goes to plan, we do make more money that we spend. Each year we keep back enough to fund the following year’s event and anything else is given to good causes. In the last few years we have been able to give £4287 to the Motor Neurone Disease Association; £2000 to Young Minds; £1300 to the Friends of Olney Library; £1000 to Olney is Kind and £1000 to the Olney Ukraine Fund. Some of this is from event surplus and some from our charity raffle.
Dementia is the biggest health and social challenge of our time. There are currently estimated to be 900,000 people in the UK with dementia. Many are undiagnosed and facing the realities of their condition alone. The Alzheimer’s Society are changing that.
With our help they can give vital support to those who need it most, hold decision-makers to account, and fund groundbreaking research to transform the future for everyone living with dementia.
